Wendy Jones completed her training as a physiotherapist in 1974 and as a
Buteyko practitioner in 1997. The inspiration to become a Buteyko practitioner came from seeing her asthmatic mothers remarkable improvement in health after undertaking a Buteyko course in Glasgow
following a television documentary programme on Buteyko.Wendy is qualified to treat both mild and chronic asthma, and also asthma complicated by other health issues. In addition to asthma, a large number of
the patients she treats suffer from conditions such as emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Indeed, research published in the 'Scotland on Sunday' newspaper in April 2003 indicated that up to a
quarter of adults told they have asthma are in fact suffering from other complaints such as COPD.
In year 2000 Wendy taught a pilot study in Glasgow in preparation for a larger clinical trial of the Buteyko Method.
Wendy is a fully qualified Buteyko practitioner and is also a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. In
addition, Wendy is a senior student in supervision at the Karuna Institute which teaches a degree course in Core Process Psychotherapy.
